Was happy to be able to find this item in dark brass rather than shiny brass as in all the hardware stores I shop at. I plan on using it to keep doors slightly ajar so that my Husky pups can't break and enter.( these would probably be useless with a determined thief) I have a central wall heater in a log cabin in Tahoe and with the doors closed it gets pretty chilly in the winter. I tried rubber door wedges but those are a pain to remove and replace if you have to do it often (which I do.). Plus the wedges don't work well on a door with a reverse swing.I made a point of getting dogs that aren't dummies.( Huskies are great escape artists.). To summerize, the chains work a well as I expected they would, although I'll have to explain to any guests why I installed them on the wrong side of some doors like the laundry room and the bathroom which I want to keep slightly open so as to keep them heated without a shredded roll of toilet paper or strewn laundry all over the place. The color matches the rest of my hardware so I'm elated. I rate the product excellent.National Hardware V1926 Chain Door Guard, Antique Brass
